Our Giving affirmation

I am a benevolent believer, therefore I am a grateful and cheerful giver. I sow into this church because I believe in the vision and ministry of this church. Because I am a tither, I am not a beggar or a borrower but a lender. I expect the windows of heaven to pour out blessings too big for me to contain and God will rebuke the devourer for my sake. Therefore I will share my blessings with my family, my neighbors and the world.

det. andrew prendergast scholarship fund

The Andrew Prendergast Scholarship Fund was established in 2017 by Vivienne Ledgister, mother of Detective Andrew Prendergast. Andrew, a police officer for more than 19 years, passed away on October 14, 2017 at the age of 45.
Andrew was an advocate for education; he strongly believed in the opportunities available to young people who complete a college degree. He encouraged young adults with whom he came into contact to pursue a college education. He would tell them that education is the key to their success enabling them to become productive men and women in their communities. This scholarship offers financial support to young people who want to pursue a college education.
We thank those who have given generously in the past, and invite all who wish to honor the life and legacy of Detective Prendergast to give generously to this fund.

Please make checks payable to Vanderveer Park United Methodist Church, and in the memo section write: "The Andrew Prendergast Scholarship Fund."
